Jerry Thompson and Mike Thompson
Jerry and Mike Thompson recently completed their feature film debut, writing, directing, filming and editing THOR AT THE BUS STOP.
The Thompson brothers have written and directed over a dozen multi-award winning short films together. THOR AT THE BUS STOP was inspired by two of their more successful shorts, one of the same name and another called PASSENGER SEAT.
The short version of THOR AT THE BUS STOP won Best Film at the 2003 Spring Flicks short film competition and the Audience Choice Award at the Mercury Film Festival that same year. PASSENGER SEAT won eight awards at The Spring Flicks Film Festival in 2007, including Best Film, Best Actor, Best Director, Best Sound Design, and Best Screenplay. It also won Best Nevada Filmmaker at the Dam Short Film Festival in Boulder City, Nevada, as well as the Overall Audience Choice Award. The Thompson brothers both earned their Bachelor’s degree in Film from UNLV. They worked their way through school drawing caricatures at various hotels on the Las Vegas Strip, including the Excalibur, the New York, New York, MGM, and Venetian. A couple years after completing college, Jerry started his own production company, Light Forge Studios.
Mike started working at Light Forge Studios soon after.
Since College, Jerry and Mike have been working full-time as directors, cinematographers, and editors. They have shot dozens of commercials and television shows, as well as corporate and instructional videos and promotional videos for shows and entertainers on the strip.
THOR AT THE BUS STOP will screen at the prestigious SINGAPORE INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL in April and will be featured at CINEVEGAS in June, 2009. Details can be found at http://thoratthebusstop.com.
